Cocotte

Since childhood, I have loved hens: simple yet mysterious creatures, guardians of life and dreams.
In Cocotte, a handmade terracotta sculpture, the female figure is dressed in feathers and holds a blue egg, symbol of birth and a cherished desire.
Her gaze, lifted upwards, seems to follow an inner melody: the voice of memories turning into poetry.
A unique piece of ceramic art, poetic and intimate, dedicated to those who love art that tells delicate stories and offers a refuge of beauty and lightness.

Technical notes

The sculpture is hand-modeled with a pinkish-toned clay.
The girl’s skin remains in natural clay, while the colored parts are decorated only with engobes.
The little face is as small as a hazelnut. The curls are applied one by one and are made of delicate clay strips rolled on themselves.
The sculpture is hollow and has undergone a single firing at 980°.
Dimensions: height 16 cm, width 16 cm, depth 17 cm.
