The sculpture is inspired by the famous work of Edouard Manet, "Olympia". After seeing the painting in an exhibition in Venice, I couldn't resist in touching and using clay to reproduce it. Obviously my creature is in an ironic version, while Manet's looks you straight in the eyes and doesn't make you smile at all! Among the photos of the work, there is also a photo of the painting and one of a montage.

Although he worked hard to make it, I had a lot of fun. I started with the bed trying to imagine how it could have been, since it can't be seen in the picture. Then I placed the mattresses on top, two completely hollow mattresses, after that pillows, also hollow, the draped sheets and the silk shawl. Above all this sparking appearence of soft elegance, Manet's legendary Olympia rests !!!!

The sculpture is hollowis and hand-modelled in white and pink clay, decorated with engobes and glazes. It underwent two firings at 960 ° and 980 °.
