The little hen of my dreams

There are wishes that never leave.
They remain small and quiet,
waiting for the right moment to become real.

As a child, I imagined her like this:
a little hen of my own, to touch, to watch,
a simple and living world made of slow, everyday gestures.

She could not exist back then,
so she stayed with me as a gentle dream

Today, she takes shape in this ceramic art sculpture,
where memory becomes matter and desire becomes presence.

The girl rests on her, asleep,
in a gesture of complete trust,
the kind only dreams can hold.

The little hen supports, welcomes, protects.
She is home, childhood, imagination finally finding a place to rest

A handmade ceramic artwork that speaks of tender dreams kept over time,
and of the quiet possibility of finding them again.

Technical notes
The sculpture is hand-modeled with a pinkish-toned clay.

I applied glossy and satin enamels

The skin is left in natural clay, while the coloured parts have been painted with different hues of engobes (slips) in order to create delicate nuances and plays of colour.

The little face is as small as a hazelnut. The curls are applied one by one and are made of delicate clay strips rolled on themselves.

The tiny book, no bigger than a postage stamp, is hand-painted with care.

The sculpture underwent two firings at 980°
