Volare felice

Her name is "Flying Happy".
I always have the urge to fly, I'm not talking about taking a plane and leaving, but flying with my mind.

I travel a lot in my thoughts, especially in the evening when I try to fall asleep. I always have a bit of trouble falling asleep, and to help myself, I try to imagine beautiful things! And it's precisely in this moment that my imagination flies and creates.

The most beautiful and engaging ideas come to me just when my mind is crossing the threshold of sleep.
I don't even know what this temporal threshold is called, where you are neither awake nor asleep, I would like to know!

Technical notes
The sculpture is hand-modelled in pink clay, decorated with engobes and glazes. It underwent two firings at 960 ° and 980 °.

It faced two cooking processes at 960° and 980°

The face is as small as a hazelnut and modelled by hand. The curls are applied one at a time and are made of delicate strips of clay rolled up on themselves.

The skin is left in natural clay, while the coloured parts have been painted with different hues of engobes (slips) in order to create delicate nuances and plays of colour. I really like playing with colours and decorations.

I applied glazes.
