A Mother's Dream

To sleep with a baby on your belly, to feel its warmth and its sweet weight on your womb induces an intimate and fulfilling sleep. From birth a fertile fluid, full of life and hope, lulls us in a gentle sway, in perfect harmony with the world and all its creatures.
Dalla nascita un fluido fertile pieno di vita e speranza ci culla in un dolce dondolio, in piena armonia con il mondo e le sue creature.

The work participated in the 62nd edition of the INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION “CERAMICS IN LOVE” 2023 – CASTELLAMONTE.

Technical notes: the work is made of pink clay, it has undergone three firings at 960 °, 980 ° and 700 °. It was decorated with engobes, enamels, lustres in the third fire and wax.

Alla base della sfera vi è un foro nel quale viene inserita l’asta del supporto metallico. All’interno della sfera nella parte superiore in posizione simmetrica rispetto al foro, è stato posizionato un cilindro cavo di argilla nel quale si inserisce il palo per garantire la stabilità all’opera.

The metal support is handcrafted in antique iron.

The girl's skin is left in natural clay, while the coloured parts have been decorated with white clays .

The face is as small as a hazelnut and modelled by hand. The curls are applied one at a time and are made of delicate strips of clay rolled up on themselves.

The sculpture is hollow.
