There is a sky that is not meant to be looked at, but worn.

A light sky, crossed by clouds and distant flights, wrapping the body like a new breath.

She rises, suspended between what holds her back and what she is ready to release, following the thin thread of a balloon that seems to know the way.

It is not escape, it is a return to lightness.

Sunflowers bloom from her coat, little suns kept close to the heart, warm, alive, stubborn in their light.
piccoli soli custoditi vicino al cuore,
caldi, vivi, ostinati nella luce.

Leaves rest in her hair like gentle thoughts, carried by the wind of a possible elsewhere.

The Sunflower Sky is a quiet invitation:
to become lighter,
to trust,
to rise again.

Technical notes:

It belongs to the “Suspended Girls” series.

The sculpture is hand-modeled with a pinkish-toned clay.

The girl’s skin remains in natural clay, while the colored details are enriched with engobes and ceramic glazes.

I applied glossy and satin enamels

The skin is left in natural clay, while the coloured parts have been painted with different hues of engobes (slips) in order to create delicate nuances and plays of colour.

The little face is as small as a hazelnut.

The sculpture underwent two firings at 980°
