Nativity “On the Journey”

The artwork took part in the 46th Nativity Exhibition in Grottaglie, held at the Episcopio Museum of the city.

“In Viaggio” tells the story of a Holy Family moving forward like a sail of peace. Mary points toward the future, Joseph protects her: together they travel among peoples, traditions, and hopes. The boat becomes a universal refuge, where the light of Jesus guides humanity toward a new horizon.

Technical notes
The piece was hand-sculpted in red clay, decorated with the sgraffito technique, and painted with engobes and ceramic glazes.
