Annunciation "A winged embrace"

Un abbraccio d’ali (An Embrace of Wings) is my personal interpretation of the Annunciation, a moment suspended between heaven and earth, intimacy and revelation.
In this ceramic sculpture, the angel does not arrive from above but from near. He leans gently on Mary’s shoulders, with a very human tenderness. He points to her womb, the place of mystery, while his golden wings wrap around her like a shelter, a support, a promise.

Mary is open, serene, welcoming. Her posture speaks of trust, listening, and grace. I wanted every detail to express softness: the gentle colors, the flowing shapes, the light sliding across the wings.
Ho voluto che tutto parlasse di delicatezza: i colori morbidi, i volumi pieni, la luce che scivola sulle ali.

This piece is dedicated to motherhood, protection, and inner listening. An invitation to trust, to make space for the new, to feel that every meaningful announcement arrives together with an embrace.
