Tra le braccia del Cielo

180,00 €

This handmade ceramic sculpture of the Virgin Mary and Child appears suspended between earth and heaven, wrapped in a flowing blue mantle that becomes sky, wind and prayer.

Mary does not simply hold her Child close. She raises him gently with both hands, lifting him towards the light. Her gesture speaks of motherhood, but also of offering and trust: loving someone means protecting them, while also finding the courage to entrust them to life and to God.

The Child seems almost weightless in her arms, his little feet rising above the edge of the mantle. Mary looks up at him with tenderness and quiet confidence. Her figure does not appear firmly anchored to the ground; instead, she inhabits a suspended space where the boundary between the human and the divine becomes delicate and almost invisible.

The wide blue cloak, enriched with pale shades and tiny distant birds, evokes the vastness of the sky and surrounds both figures like a shelter. The warm peach-coloured dress brings an earthly softness to the composition, while Mary’s long hair follows its upward movement.

In the Arms of Heaven is a one-of-a-kind religious ceramic sculpture, entirely shaped and decorated by hand. It tells a story of faith through tenderness, motherhood and surrender, reminding us that even when we feel suspended, we may still be held by a love greater than ourselves.
