Nativity Grace – Holy Family in Artistic Ceramic

This sculpture was born from my deep love for sacred art, a constant search that weaves together faith and beauty, spirituality and matter. In Nativity Grace I wished to portray the Holy Family through soft forms and warm colors, capable of transmitting intimacy, peace, and harmony.

Mary, a tender and radiant mother, holds Baby Jesus in her arms, while Joseph – often forgotten – is here represented as an affectionate and protective father, a true guardian who lovingly watches over his family. His embrace is not only an act of support but also a symbol of a strong and silent fatherhood that offers security and shelter.

Every detail, hand-modeled in artistic ceramic, is an invitation to contemplate the grace of the Nativity: a moment of mystery and universal love that continues to speak to the heart of those who behold it.

Nativity Grace is not just a sculpture, but a poetic presence, capable of bringing into the home a message of faith, hope, and timeless beauty.

Technical notes
The sculpture is hollow and hand modelled in pinkish clay, decorated with engobes and glazes. It has undergone two firings.
The face is as small as a hazelnut and modelled by hand.
The skin of the figures has been left in natural clay, while the colored parts have been painted with different shades of engobes to create delicate nuances and plays of color.
I apply a little enamel and usually it's glazed.
