The First Leap captures the moment when the longing for freedom finally becomes courage and movement.
Part of the Voglia di volare – Longing to Fly series, this sculpture begins with a simple question: what happens when we finally stop holding ourselves back? She opens her arms to the air and entrusts her body to a gesture of pure confidence. We do not yet know where she will land. And yet, in that suspended moment, she already seems free.
The red drapery opens around her body like a wave, while the yellow top brings light and joy. A tiny ladybug adds a playful, tender detail. Even her hair seems to rise with the movement. Everything suggests a body that no longer asks permission to take up space, but simply chooses to live fully within it.
